“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” —Mark Twain.
There is a measure of truth in Twain’s words. And yet millions struggle to find the reason they were born. There is a plan, says the Bible. There is a sense in circumstances. It is found in God. But to find it you must turn to Christ and seek God.
Give yourself to the fulfillment of His plan, and you will have found the elusive key to living. You will have a motive: God’s glory. You will have a rule: God’s law. You will have a friend in life and death: God’s Son. You will have found the answer to the doubting and despair triggered by the apparent meaninglessness, even malice, of circumstances: you will know that the Lord reigns, and that “in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). And you will have peace (John 16:33).
