Christ’s Body vs. Satan’s Empire

The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No”to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. TITUS 2:11-12

J.I. Packer writes…

The Church is the Body of Christ, called under the leadership of Jesus, its head, to permeate and purify society and inject God’s values, which are the true human values, into its life. But Satan’s empire (that is, pagan and secular ideologies and the communities that embrace them) strikes back. The New Testament writers regularly speak of the world in a human and cultural sense, meaning society organized apart from God and against God, and they see the world as always trying to squeeze Christians individually and the Church corporately porately into its own mold-the mold, that is, of the predominant preconceptions, prejudices, behavior patterns, and styles of life of the particular time and place in which God’s people find themselves. The conflict is continuous.
